Practical Course on Viscosity Measurements

Gain a solid understanding of proper test method procedures, types of fluid behavior, and proper instrument use for your AMETEK Brookfield viscometer. This course was designed to help you get the most out of your AMETEK Brookfield instrument and test methods through information, activities, and techniques that can be easily understood and applied. Discussion topics include how to pick a spindle/speed combination, testing methodology, proper instrument operation, calibration and verification, rheology, and data interpretation. You may bring a sample of your product for discussion and testing. (MSDS required. Please contact us in advance.)

Practical Course on Texture Analysis

Learn industry-accepted test methods to perform texture analysis on foods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, packaging, mechanical materials, and more. This class demonstrates how to test for flow behavior using compression and tension. Gain insight into material evaluation for Hardness, Springiness, Adhesiveness, Chewability, and many other textural or physical properties. This practical course's format includes 60% theory presentation and 40% hands-on sample testing with an AMETEK Brookfield texture analyzer. We encourage you to bring samples for testing. Please contact us in advance so the proper fixtures are available to perform your unique sample evaluation.

Practical Course on Controlled Stress/Rate Measurements using RS Rheometers

This practical course was designed to teach you how to use an AMETEK Brookfield RS Rheometer for method development and applications for improving processing, developing new products, and predicting issues. You will learn how to address flow behavior and characterize method development, controlled stress vs. controlled rate measurements, measuring yield stress, creep and recovery of product structure after flow. Learning the basics of rheology and test method design will help you better understand your collected data. Training course combines theory presentation and practical work using the AMETEK Brookfield RS Rheometer.

Practical Course on Powder Flow
An Introduction to Powder Flow Using the AMETEK Brookfield Powder Flow Tester

Learn the basics of powder flow and test methods using a combination of theory presentations and practical tests with the PFT. In this course, you’ll also learn to address powder flow measurements for characterizing powder behavior under gravity discharge. You will examine the benefits of shear cell measurements over traditional simple powder characterization methods. Students will assess the benefits of predicting powder flow using the results from Flow Functions, Friction Angels, Bulk Density and Wall friction. Upon course completion, you will gain an understanding of how to benchmark powder flow properties using the AMETEK Brookfield PFT for QA and QC purposes.

Practical Course on Computrac Moisture Analysis

This course will provide the user information helpful to achieve optimal performance and reliability resulting in many years of service with their AMETEK Brookfield instrument. A two-hour operations course covers basic theory of operations, calibration, sample handling, sample preparation, and parameter development. A one-hour maintenance course program provides information necessary for operators to understand their moisture analyzer and applications. The course includes one hour of discussion.
